OTTAWA, June 17 /CNW Telbec/ - The cost to local taxpayers of Canada's
outdated telecommunications regime will be the focus of a report to be
released by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) on June 18 in
The report will be released at 11:00 a.m. (all times Eastern) by Jean
Perrault, FCM President and Mayor of Sherbrooke, Que., at a news conference in
the Members' Lounge adjacent to City Council chambers, Toronto City Hall.
FCM President Perrault will be accompanied by Councillor Howard Moscoe of
Toronto, FCM Board member and Chair of FCM's Telecommunications Subcommittee.
A technical briefing for reporters will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the
large boardroom on the 14th Floor, East Tower, Toronto City Hall. The
technical briefing will be led by FCM Intergovernmental Relations Manager,
