Media Advisory - Education Minister speaks with students about online respect and responsibility on Safer Internet Day

TORONTO, Feb. 11 /CNW/ - Education Minister Kathleen Wynne will meet with
secondary school students on Safer Internet Day to talk about how students can
use technology in a way that is appropriate and respectful of others.
The Minister will launch Get Connected, Get in the Know: Online Respect
and Responsibility, and participate in a student-based discussion regarding
the appropriate use of technology.
Last May, Minister Wynne met with a group of about 50 students from
across Ontario to talk about technology use. Get Connected captures the
experiences and perspectives these students shared, and the solutions they
suggested. It is also a resource tool for students and educators that
encourages discussions around the appropriate (respectful) use of technology.
Get Connected has been distributed to school boards, student councils and
principals, and is part of broader efforts to promote student engagement and
safe learning and teaching environments.
