Media advisory - "Don't skimp on cleaning while infections grow at St Joe's!" - Workers at Hamilton's St Joe's to keep pressure on with info-pickets today, Wednesday and Friday - Message to Health Minister Caplan: Fund our hospital, don't risk our health!

HAMILTON, ON, Oct. 6 /CNW Telbec/ - Don't skimp on cleaning and outsource
jobs to solve Premier McGuinty's fake health funding crisis, housekeeping and
other support workers will tell Health Minister David Caplan this week in a
series of info-pickets at St Joseph's Hospital.
Workers at St Joe's, members of the Canadian Union of Public
Employees (CUPE) 786, will stage info-pickets today (Monday), Wednesday and
Friday to warn the public against the hospital's reckless plan to contract out
cleaning jobs even as it reels from C. difficile.

WHAT: Info-pickets against outsourcing cleaning jobs at St Joe's

WHERE: Three locations at the same time at St Joseph's Hospital:
Charlton Site, 50 Charlton Avenue East
Mountain Site, 100 West 5th Street
Stoney Creek Site, 2757 King Street East

WHEN: Monday, October 6, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Wednesday, October 8, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Friday, October 10, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

The McGuinty government, through its so-called "Local Health Integration
Network" (LHIN), is not funding St Joe's adequately. But skimping on cleaning
by outsourcing jobs is the wrong strategy to clean up St. Joe's deficit,
workers will tell the public.
