Media Advisory - Dare to Reach Higher: Rights and Freedoms, a conference organized by the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse starts on Monday, in Montréal



    MONTREAL, June 11 /CNW Telbec/ - La Commission des droits de la personne
et des droits de la jeunesse is hosting on June 15 and 16, 2009 the annual
conference of the Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agencies
(CASHRA), in Montreal.
    Gaétan Cousineau, President of the Commission will open the conference on
Monday. He will be joined by the Ontario and federal human rights
commissioners and the chair of the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal who
will address the current human rights systems in Canada, their advantages and
limitations.
    About 200 participants and more than 30 speakers - members of human
rights commissions, experts, lawyers, academics and human rights groups are
expected to attend.
