Media Advisory - Council of the Federation will no longer meet in Toronto on February 7

OTTAWA, Jan. 30 /CNW/ - Please be advised that due to scheduling issues,
the February 7 meeting of the Council of the Federation (COF) will now take
place via conference call. Previously, Premiers were scheduled to travel to
Toronto for the meeting.
"While a face-to-face meeting will not happen on February 7, such a
meeting will be rescheduled for later this spring," said Premier Danny
Williams, Chair of the Council of the Federation. "The agenda remains intact
and Premiers look forward to receiving updates on progress on initiatives from
the 2006 COF summer meeting, and other matters of importance to the country as
a whole."

The Council of the Federation is comprised of all thirteen provincial and
territorial Premiers. It enables Premiers to work collaboratively to
strengthen the Canadian federation by fostering a constructive relationship
among the provinces and territories, and with the federal government.
