OTTAWA, May 6 /CNW Telbec/ - On May 11, 2009 the Council of Canadian
Academies will release the report, The Sustainable Management of Groundwater
In 2006 the Council of Canadian Academies (the Council) was tasked by the
Federal Minister of Natural Resources to identify, "from a science
perspective, what is needed to achieve sustainable management of Canada's
groundwater resources." As a result, the Council appointed the Expert Panel on
Groundwater to specifically address the question. The panel was comprised of
leaders in the science of groundwater, as well as experts in the social,
economic, and legal aspects relevant to sustainable groundwater management.
The report will be released to the public on May 11, 2009 via the Council
of Canadian Academies' website (www.scienceadvice.ca).
