Media Advisory - Coroner's Inquest into Slain Nurse Lori Dupont Begins Monday: Ontario Nurses' Association Members to Testify



    TORONTO, Sept. 24 /CNW/ - The Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) has
standing and will participate in the Coroner's Inquest into the murder of Lori
Dupont, RN and subsequent suicide of her attacker, Dr. Marc Daniel, which
begins Monday, September 24 in Windsor, Ontario.
    ONA and its members will provide testimony during the inquest, expected
to last approximately seven to eight weeks. Dupont, an ONA member, was stabbed
to death by Daniel in the recovery room where she worked at Windsor's
Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital on November 12, 2005.

    ONA is the union representing 53,000 registered nurses and allied health
professionals working in Ontario hospitals, long-term care facilities, public
health, the community and industry.
