Media Advisory - Convening Ceremony By the Confederation of Aboriginal People of Canada



    ALL ABORIGINAL PEOPLE ARE CONVENED TO PARTICIPATE AT
    THE CONVENING CEREMONY ON MONDAY JUNE 4TH 2007 AT 1:00PM.
    (Corner Wellington / O'Connor Ottawa, in front of the Parliament)

    GATINEAU, June 4 /CNW Telbec/ - An official Sacred Drum convening
ceremony will take in front of the parliament of Ottawa in order to gather all
Aboriginal people to participate in the Mega gathering scheduled for this
summer.

    There will be 3 ceremonies for this event on June 4th 2007:

    - A Purification ceremony
    - A Sacred Pipe ceremony
    - A Sacred Drum ceremony

    PLACE AND TIME
    --------------

    Monday, June 4th 2007: The participants have two choices. You can gather
at the Confederation's office for 11:00am at 392 boul. Montée Paiement in
Gatineau, to then proceed to the ceremonial site in Ottawa.
    Or, you can proceed directly at the ceremonial site for 1:00pm on
Wellington St. at the intersection of O'Connor St. in Ottawa.
    To inaugurate this historical event, there will be some Aboriginal songs
performed in traditional languages.
    It is now the time for all Aboriginal People to reunite, to protect our
heritage and to live in harmony again as one People.
    Please do not be late to this historical event!
