Media Advisory - Consumer Awareness Week: Focus on protecting young consumers



    TORONTO, March 26 /CNW/ - Government and Consumer Services Minister Ted
McMeekin will meet with students at George Brown College to launch Consumer
Awareness Week (March 28 - April 4), and announce a campaign to help educate
and protect young consumers against debt dependency and bad financial
management.
    The minister will be joined by Samantha Decouto, a young consumer who
rebounded from a massive credit card debt, along with Laurie Campbell,
Executive Director of Credit Canada, and Maureen Loweth, Dean of the Faculty
of Business at George Brown College.
