Helfrich returned home from Africa after his successful, yet gruelling climb
up Mt. Kilimanjaro, the world's tallest free-standing mountain, in his bid to
raise awareness of colorectal cancer and funds for the Colorectal Cancer
Association of Canada (CCAC).

    About Colorectal Cancer

    Colorectal cancer - cancer of the colon or rectum - is the second-leading
cause of Cancer death in Canada.
    Though preventable, an estimated 20,800 Canadians will be diagnosed with
the disease this year, and approximately 8,700 are expected to die from it.

    The Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada is a non-profit organization
dedicated to increasing awareness of colorectal cancer, supporting patients
and their families, and advocating for a national screening policy and timely
access to medical treatments.
