    OTTAWA, March 26 /CNW Telbec/ - The final report from the National
Roundtables on Corporate Social Responsibility and the Canadian Extractive
Industry in Developing Countries will be released at a press conference on
Thursday, March 29 at 10:00 am.
    The final report was jointly written by an Advisory Group that included
representatives from civil society and industry. The report presents a set of
consensus-based recommendations for a framework of good conduct for Canadian
mining, oil and gas companies operating in developing countries.
    The multi-stakeholder roundtable process and the final report are the
first of their kind in the world. The implementation of the resulting
recommendations will position Canada as a global leader on Corporate Social
Responsibility with respect to the extractive industry.
