TORONTO, Jan. 21 /CNW/ - Hundreds of Ontario charities are calling on the
province's Alcohol and Gaming Commission to stop gambling with the future of
Ontario's most vulnerable citizens. Following a closed-door meeting with the
Commission, the Charity Gaming Council of Ontario will be available for
comment on the crisis facing charities that depend on charitable gaming
(bingo) for the money they use to fund a wide range of essential programs.
The Council's Executive Director, Karen Mortfield, will be available for
comment, as will representatives of a number of major Ontario charities.
