Media Advisory - CAW reaches tentative agreement with Ontario nursing homes



    LONDON, ON, Jan. 10 /CNW/ - The Canadian Auto Workers union reached a
tentative agreement earlier this morning with a consortium of twenty-two
nursing homes located throughout Southern Ontario, commonly known as the
"Group of 22".
    This tentative agreement follows two months of negotiations between the
CAW and the group of nursing home employers.
    Nursing homes covered under this agreement are located in Wardsville,
Wingham, Simcoe, Parkhill, Chatham, Komoka, Ailsa Craig, Delhi, Exeter, Lion's
Head, Windsor, London, Tillsonburg, Kitchener-Waterloo, Amherstburg, Sarnia
and Seaforth. Workers are represented by CAW Locals 2458, 302 and 1106.
    No details of the agreement will be released until after workers vote on
the contract. Ratification votes are expected to begin next week.
