Media Advisory - CAW President to meet with Prime Minister Stephen Harper Today

OTTAWA, Feb. 12 /CNW/ - CAW President Buzz Hargrove will meet with Prime
Minister Stephen Harper at 4 p.m. today at the Prime Minister's office in
Ottawa.
This will be the first meeting between the two since Harper took office
in January 2006, despite many requests by the CAW.
During the meeting, Hargrove will urge the Prime Minister to take quick
decisive steps to deal with the manufacturing job loss crisis and to develop a
comprehensive auto strategy that would resuscitate the automotive industry,
currently being hammered by unfair trade with Asia and Europe and a soaring
Canadian dollar.
Hargrove will be available for comment at approximately 4:30pm today in
the Charles Lynch press conference room 130-S of the Centre Block on
Parliament Hill.
