MONTREAL and TORONTO, July 17 /CNW/ - The Canadian Olympic Committee
(COC) will introduce Canada's flag bearer for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
at two separate press conferences in Montreal and Toronto on Wednesday,
July 23. The COC will also officially name the complete Canadian Olympic Team
for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, which take place from August 8-24.
Canada's flag bearer will join the press conferences either in person or
through telephone or video conference, dependent on his or her availability in
the lead up to the Beijing Games. The 2008 Canadian Olympic Team is
anticipated to number up to 330 athletes, including nine returning medallists
from Athens 2004 and at least five full "team" sports. Certain athlete injury
