QUEBEC, June 25 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to come
aboard Her Majesty's Canadian Ship Ville de Québec on June 30th, at the jetty
in Pointe-au-Pic (La Malbaie), for the crossing to Québec.

    When: June 30, 2008, at 5:45 a.m.

    Departure: Pointe-au-Pic Jetty (La Malbaie)

    Arrival: Québec 11:30 a.m.

The ship last came to Québec in the fall 2004; the members of HMCS Ville
de Québec are back in order to establish close ties with her namesake city and
celebrate her 400th anniversary. Indeed, the ship will berth at Pier 22, and
will be open to visitors on July 1st and July 3rd, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
HMCS Ville de Québec is a HALIFAX-Class Canadian frigate, designed in
Canada (more specifically in Lévis). Modern and well-equipped, the ship is
designed for versatility and can act alone or as part of a larger force.
Frigates of this type bring together anti-submarine capabilities and surface
and air warfare systems; they are the cornerstone of the fleet. Most of the
crewmen and women are francophones, many of whom come from the Province of
Quebec.
