        On June 8th and 9th, 14 000 Quebecers will team up to fight
             against cancer and participate in 19 Canadian Cancer
                       Society's Relay For Life events.
         In 2007, the target is $5.8 million with 49 Relays organized
                               across Quebec.

    THE POPULATION IS INVITED TO ALL THE RELAYS TO ENCOURAGE PARTICIPANTS,
                    CELEBRATE LIFE AND SUPPORT OUR CAUSE.

               The Relay For Life is a unique community event
                    which takes place from dusk till dawn
       (a friendly and festive 12-hour Relay, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.).
                     All night long, teams of 10 people
               walk and relay around a track to raise money for
                          the fight against cancer.

                 Why at night? Because cancer never sleeps!

     The Relay For Life events feature people. They are an opportunity to
             paytribute to loved ones who have lost their battle
     against cancer,support those living with cancer and honour those who
       have won the battle. All Relay For Life events also comprise fun
       activities, entertainment and moving moments to share with family,
                           friends and colleagues.

    The Canadian Cancer Society invites journalists to the Relay For Life of
          downtown Montreal on Friday June 8th, 2007 from 7 p.m. in
                               Parc Maisonneuve
           (Parking lot on Sherbrooke Street, between Pie-IX Blvd.
                              and Viau Street).

       Various Relay For Life spokespersons, as well as men and women
     living with cancer or in remission will be available for interviews.
                 Their family members will also be present.

      Camera crews and photographers are invited on site to capture the
    event: a tent village in a festive setting, special ceremonies and other
                          activities are scheduled.

    - The Survivors' Victory Lap (7.30 p.m.): the first lap around the track
      kicks off each Relay and is reserved for men and women with cancer or
      in remission.

    - Another powerful moment during the event is the Luminary Ceremony:
      after sunset (9.30 p.m.), hundreds of candles are lit in honour of
      cancer survivors and in memory of those who have lost their battle
      against cancer.

     In 2007, 49 Relays will take place across Quebec, 451 across Canada.
       In Quebec, 28,000 Quebecers will participate (14 000 on June 8th
                                  and 9th).
             The target is $5.8 million ($44 million in Canada).
       Since 1999, this event has raised close to $130 million across
                                 the country.

     Besides this event in Montreal, 18 other Relay For Life events will
                           take place this weekend:
     Friday, June 8 in Amos, Beauharnois, Chambly, Châteauguay, La Sarre,
         Longueuil, Magog, Petite-Nation, Saguenay, Saint-Hyacinthe,
    Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Jérôme, Saint-Laurent and Sherbrooke.
             Saturday, June 9 in Drummondville, Lévis, Rimouski
                             and Trois-Rivières.
