Media advisory - Canadian actors, producers, writers, directors join together in support of Canadian Television



    New polling figures released on Monday Feb 4, 2008

    OTTAWA, Jan. 31 /CNW Telbec/ - Canadian television stars Wendy Crewson
and Peter Outerbridge, from the hit TV show ReGenesis, along with Yannick
Bisson, star of The Murdoch Mysteries, will join senior representatives of
Canada's producers, writers and directors at a news conference to release a
new poll focused on Canadians' views on made-in-Canada television programming
on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 12:00 noon at the Conference Centre, Pontiac
Room, Phase IV, Place du Portage, Gatineau, QC.
    The Canadian Film and Television Producers' Association (CFTPA), ACTRA
(Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists), Directors Guild
of Canada (DGC), and the Writers Guild of Canada (WGC) jointly commissioned
the poll and will be appearing on February 4 and 5th at the CRTC hearings on
the future of the Canadian Television Fund (CTF) to voice their ongoing
support for the continuation of the CTF- a critical source of funding for
made-in-Canada television programming. These organizations represent the
majority of the 22,000 people employed in the Canadian television sector
across Canada as a result of CTF-funded television programs.
