HALIFAX, Sept. 30 /CNW/ - The Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board
(CNSOPB) will officially open its Geoscience Research Centre (GRC) and Data
Management Centre (DMC) on Tuesday, October 2 in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Speakers for the opening include Diana Dalton, Chair of the CNSOPB,
Hon. Bill Dooks, Nova Scotia Energy Minister, and representatives from the
Geological Survey of Canada, and Schlumberger Information Solutions.
The GRC houses the DMC and stores hardcopy information and samples
including: well data, cores and cuttings, and geological and geophysical data.
The DMC is designed to give users on-line access to digital offshore petroleum
The project received funding from the provincial and federal governments.
