Media Advisory - Can we make our health care system better - without spending billions more?

Health Council of Canada to launch national dialogue

TORONTO, Feb. 20 /CNW/ - Canadians spent $172 billion on health care last
year, and pressure continues for governments to spend more.
It's time to ask: Are we funding the right things? Are we investing in
the programs and services that will yield the greatest health improvements for
Canadians?
On Monday, the Health Council of Canada will launch a forum designed to
engage Canadians in a national dialogue about value for money in health care.
For the first time ever, because of social media and new technologies,
all Canadians will have an opportunity to speak up - to participate in the
discussion about the future of the publicly-funded health care system.

    When: Monday, February 23, 2009
              10 a.m.
