Media Advisory - Brampton's Hospital Crisis: Service Cuts and Critical Bed Shortage

Public town hall meeting on P3 hospital set for Sept. 18

    BRAMPTON, ON, Sept. 27 /CNW Telbec/ - Problems at Brampton's privatized
P3 hospital will take centre stage at a public Town Hall meeting on Saturday,
Sept. 29.
Service cuts, higher costs, loss of community control and other concerns
will be explored in this timely public meeting convened by Dr. Sanjeev Goel,
Gogi Bhandal, Raj Jhajj, Jagtar Shergill, Sukdev Singh, Logan Sellathurai,
Sukdev Gill and Rashpaul Dosanjh, along with the Brampton Health Coalition.

WHAT: Town Hall meeting on the Brampton P3 hospital crisis

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 29, 1:00 PM

WHERE: Royal India Restaurant, 31 Melanie Drive, Brampton

The "public private partnership" (P3) hospital has wasted $300 million on
exorbitant profits and high interest charges. The result? Our new hospital is
much smaller than promised, with far too few hospital beds. Now, to make the
situation worse, services in Etobicoke General Hospital are being closed down
and moved here. This will put more pressure on Brampton's already
overstretched hospital.
The question will be asked, "What can we do as a community to draw
political attention to our hospital crisis and get some real solutions?"
