Media Advisory - Asian Canadian anglers join Chief Commissioner in progress report on harassment, assaults



    TORONTO, April 6 /CNW/ - Barbara Hall, Chief Commissioner of the Ontario
Human Rights Commission, will release the Commission's final report on reports
of harassment and assault against Asian Canadian anglers. Fishing without
Fear: Follow-up report on the Inquiry into Assaults on Asian Canadian Anglers
charts the progress 22 organizations, including police services,
municipalities, provincial government ministries and community associations
have made in response to reports of harassment and assaults against Asian
Canadian anglers. The report also identifies areas for improvement, and calls
for communities to continue working on and responding to incidents of racism.
    Asian Canadian anglers who are members of the Outdoor Venture Fishing and
Hunting Club will also attend this event.
