HALIFAX, Oct. 7 /CNW/ - Canada's Angel investors invest almost twice as
much in small and medium-sized enterprises (SME's) as venture capitalists
($3.5B vs. $1.7B), and because of their strong performance are still actively
investing in early-stage companies, even in the current market environment.
"Over 30,000 Canadian companies are financed by Angels each year,"
remarked W. Daniel Mothersill, president of the National Angel Organization.
"Without Angels, commercialization in Canada would virtually stall."
