Three day event to raise awareness and support for hospital
CALGARY, Nov. 5 /CNW/ - This week, from Wednesday, November 7th to
Friday, November 9th, dozens of children and families from our community will
share their stories of hope, help and healing, thanks to the care they
received from specialists at the Alberta Children's Hospital.
Country 105 will broadcast live from the Alberta Children's Hospital
during the fifth annual "Country 105 Cares for Kids Radiothon". All funds
raised by the radiothon will go directly to the Alberta Children's Hospital
Foundation to support excellence in pediatric health care.
"Radiothon is pure, heartfelt storytelling at its best," says Steve
Hoscheit, President & CEO of the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation. "We
are so grateful to have a radio partner so open to sharing its airwaves to
benefit kids and families in our community."
"We're happy to help," says Garry McKenzie, General Manager for Country
105 and Corus Radio in Calgary. "This event gives us the opportunity to share
with our listeners the incredibly inspirational stories that occur in our
hospital every single day."
In four years, the Country 105 Cares for Kids Radiothon has raised
$4.2 million to fund life-saving equipment, innovative child health programs
and advanced child health research.
