Media Advisory - AFN National Chief to Address Mining Day on Parliament Hill



    OTTAWA, Nov. 19 /CNW Telbec/ - AFN National Chief Phil Fontaine will
serve as keynote speaker at this year's Mining Day on the Hill. National Chief
Fontaine and Peter R. Jones, Chairman of the Mining Association of Canada will
make an announcement about a historic partnership between the Assembly of
First Nations and the Mining Association of Canada.

    Time:      Event begins at 11:45 a.m.
               Speech at 12:45 p.m. followed by media opportunity

    Mining Day on the Hill is an annual event of The Mining Association of
Canada held to raise key public policy issues with federal government decision
makers. Over 60 mining industry representatives will meet with
Parliamentarians, political staff and civil servants throughout the day on
November 20. The focus of this year's Mining Day is Mining and Aboriginal
Peoples.

    Note: The Rideau Club dress code requires men to wear a jacket and tie.
    Jeans are not permitted.
