OTTAWA, July 11 /CNW Telbec/ - The Assembly of First Nations is holding
its 29th Annual General Assembly (AGA) in Quebec City. Agenda items include:
Residential Schools Apology, Truth and Reconciliation Commission, United
Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, National Day of
Action outcomes, Education and Child Welfare as well as Consultation and
Accommodation and Treaty implementation.
The National Chief, Phil Fontaine will deliver his opening remarks at
10:00 am on July 15th and he will be available to the media immediately
There will also be a background briefing regarding the AGA for interested
media on Monday July 14th in Room 2103 at the QCCC at 7:00 pm.
