Media Advisory - 2008 NHL Awards celebration kicks off with Ball Hockey Tournament, celebrity-filled Red Carpet



    TORONTO, June 12 /CNW/ - The Canadian Diabetes Association is pleased to
announce a special Ball Hockey Tournament in Yonge-Dundas Square to kick off
the 25th anniversary celebration of the NHL Awards benefitting the Canadian
Diabetes Association.

    
    Date:     Thursday, June 12, 2008

    Time:     9:00 to noon

    Location: Yonge-Dundas Square (south east corner of Yonge and Dundas)

    Who:      NHL Alumni Mark Napier, Mike Pelyk, Bob Probert, Gary Leeman
              and more; special guests from CBC Radio, the FAN590 and 680
              News; and musicians Travis Good, Goldfinger's Darren Pfiffer, a
              puck drop from hockey legend Eddie Shack and refereeing by
              Dave Schultz

    In addition, journalists, photographers and broadcast cameras are invited
to attend the Red Carpet procession at the Elgin Theatre on Yonge Street.

    Time:     5:45 to 6:30 pm

    Location: Yonge Street, southbound from Shuter to Queen Street
