MedcomSoft Realigns Board and Appoints Special Executive Committee

    TORONTO, Jan. 3 /CNW/ - MedcomSoft Inc. (TSX:MSF) (the "Company") today
announced changes to the composition and structure of its board of directors
resulting from the first phase of an independent strategic review of the
Company conducted by Dr. Steven Small of Capital Partners Corporation and
former healthcare investment banker Robert Wilson, a Senior Research Director
of the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition.
    As a result of this review, the board of directors of the Company,
working together with the Company's senior management, has agreed to the
following changes:

    (1) the appointment of a new board of directors,
    (2) the appointment of Dr. Steven Small as Chairman of the board, and
    (3) the appointment of a Special Executive Committee, to be chaired by
        Dr. Small, with the mandate to lead the necessary changes within the
        Company including the search for a new US-based Chief Executive

    Effective January 2, 2008, the board accepted the resignations of Peter
Langer, Dr. Peter Aldor, Dr. Ross Black and Dr. Thomas A. Riemenschneider.
Dr. Black and Dr. Riemenschneider will remain available to the Company as
medical advisors. The board extends its thanks to the retiring directors.
    In place of the retiring directors, Dr. Steven Small, Mr. John Gillberry
and Mr. Ray Simonson have been appointed to the board. Additional Board
members are under consideration. The Special Executive Committee will
initially be comprised of Dr. Small and Mr. Gillberry and will be supported by
