DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, June 1 /CNW Telbec/ - The business woman,
artist and lecturer Marie-Josée Primeau was elected yesterday as president of
the Canadian Business Council of Dubai and Northern Emirates (CBC). This
expected election will allow the organization to carry on its successful
promotion activities of Canadian business and economic partnerships. "It is an
honour to be elected president of this prestigious Council and I hope to bring
significant development and results during my mandate. I will dedicate myself
to represent proudly the excellence, the energy and the creativity of Canadian
companies" said Ms Primeau.
The new president's priorities are set to maintain and improve CBC
events' quality and impact and to align economic missions with the marketing
objectives of the construction, health, education, natural resources (oil and
gas) and food-processing industries.
Since March 1993, CBC has developed strong relations between Canada and
the Middle-East. This non-lucrative organization supports its members in order
to improve their visibility and to develop partnerships with local and
international organizations in the region.
Marie-Josée Primeau has an impressive resume. She lives in Dubai's Palm
Jumeirah, the famous palm tree shaped island, and works as a partner and
manager for Bionest, a company specialising in wastewater and using a patented
technology from Quebec. This technology is particularly appreciated by workers
on builder's yard. Ms Primeau is also an active member of the Capital Club,
the first private business club in Dubai, where she managed to build her
network and strong influence.
Accomplished painter, her "Eyes of the Arab World" collection was
released in March during Dubai's Canada Week in the presence of current
Canadian ambassador, hockey-legend Yvan Cournoyer and many other
personalities. Her paintings are now exposed in many institutions, including
the Government of Abu Dhabi's Culture Department and the Royal Family Palace.
While volunteering as the vice-president of the Advisory Committee of
Care Canada, Marie-Josée Primeau completed three times the ascension of Mount
Kilimanjaro, sharing this experience with public personalities. She is also a
marathon runner and regularly participates to those in Paris, Dubai and
China's Great Wall.
Marie-Josée Primeau is a farsighted and multi-talented woman. She never
stops surpassing herself in order to achieve her dreams. The CBC presidency
truly motivates her: "I am inspired by United Arab Emirates' leadership and
stimulated by this unique growing environment".
Marie-Josée Primeau is available for interviews. More pictures on demand.
