TORONTO, Feb. 25 /CNW/ - Maple Leaf Foods has confirmed that all
customers have been contacted and the two products recalled yesterday have now
all been withdrawn from store shelves. As a further precautionary measure the
Company will be conducting follow-up store audits over the next week.
The recalled products produced at the company's Hamilton, Ontario plant
- Shopsy's Deli Fresh All Beef Frankfurters, (Product Code 20730 and
UPC 6487520730) with a Best Before date of AL22 and AL23 (April 22
- Maple Leaf Hot Dogs Original, (Product Code 22356 and UPC 6310022356)
with a Best Before date of AL23
"We initiated this recall because product was released to the marketplace
without complete adherence to the stringent food safety protocols we set in
place last fall. We are proud of the speed and the cooperation extended by our
customers in removing product from store shelves," said Rick Young, President,

transparently and swiftly in alerting consumers immediately and we have
demonstrated the highest level of due diligence in managing this recall."
