    Education Reporter To Chair Selection Panel For Teaching Awards

    TORONTO, Jan. 19 /CNW/ -

    Cynthia Mulligan, education reporter with Toronto's Citytv, will chair
the selection panel for the Premier's Awards for Teaching Excellence. The
nomination deadline is January 31.
    Mulligan (http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/teachingawards/selectionPanel.html)
has worked with BT-BreakfastTelevision, CityPulse and is now education
specialist and host with CityNews. She will be joined on the selection panel
(http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/teachingawards/selectionPanel.html) by a parent,
principal, student, support staff member and a teacher.
    Every day, school and school board staff motivate, support and inspire
Ontario's students to reach their full potential. The Premier's Awards for
Teaching Excellence (http://www.ontario.ca/teachingawards) recognize and
celebrate those individuals who make a difference in education.
    There are six award categories (http://www.ontario.ca/teachingawards),
including teacher of the year and excellent support staff.
    There are just two weeks left to nominate. Award recipients will be
announced before the end of the school year.
