Magmic Games brings the New York Times Crosswords to Blackberry smartphones

    OTTAWA, Sept. 11 /CNW Telbec/ - Magmic Games, today announced The New
York Times Crosswords, the first fully-featured crosswords mobile application
for BlackBerry(R) smartphones from Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq:   RIMM;
TSX; RIM). The game will launch on Oct. 2, available exclusively to AT&T
BlackBerry smartphone subscribers via AT&T's MEdia Mall mobile and web-based
storefronts through Jan. 1, 2009. After that time, the product will be
available across most U.S. and Canadian carriers, as well as offered through
Bplay.com, Magmic's direct-to-consumer shopping portal for BlackBerry
smartphone entertainment products.
    Officially licensed by The New York Times, the application brings the
world standard of crossword puzzles into the hands of BlackBerry smartphone
users. It is designed to closely mirror the print publication experience, with
a simple, elegant user interface and three different puzzle views available.
An interactive tutorial acquaints new customers with the features of the game,
while a dynamic news feed imports daily news headlines from NYTimes.com.
    The game is available for purchase in two packages. The first, a one-time
purchase version that retails for $7.99, includes 30 classic puzzles. A
second, a subscription version ($2.99 per month), is also available that
includes access to the same daily puzzles published in the print publication,
along with archive of over 4,000 puzzles.
    BlackBerry smartphone users who are not AT&T subscribers may register
their e-mail address with Bplay.com for notification when the product is
available worldwide via Bplay's online shopping portal. The email registration
