FAIRFAX, VA, Jan. 15 /CNW Telbec/ - CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.A; NYSE:
GIB), a leading provider of information technology and business process
services, today announced the implementation of the new AMS Advantage Grant
Lifecycle Management (GLM) module. Developed in collaboration with the County
of Los Angeles, CA, GLM simplifies the tracking of grant information from
opportunity to closing, and will be available with AMS Advantage Release 3.8,
scheduled for general release this year.
"With the new AMS Advantage Grant Lifecycle Management module, the County
can manage the grants application tracking process more consistently across
the County," said Robert Davis, Assistant Auditor-Controller, Los Angeles
County, CA. "On going grants monitoring is particularly important now, given
the tough economy."
The implementation of the Grant Lifecycle Management module is the latest
building block of a multi-year ERP initiative to replace the County's legacy
administrative systems with CGI's AMS Advantage, a fully integrated ERP
system. Grant Lifecycle Management provides a centralized view of potential
grant revenue and grants status across all government levels, improving
coordination, communication, and oversight. GLM also identifies patterns for
lost grant dollars as well as managing sources of grant funding, across
federal, state, and local governments as well as from non-profits and private
"By eliminating the manual effort required to manage the process
end-to-end, we will increase our efficiency while improving citizen service
with the new Grant Lifecycle Management," said Chuck Adams, Assistant Director
Department of Public Works, Los Angeles County, CA.
The Department of Public Works, which tracks 350 grants worth more than
$450 million, was the first County department to roll out the GLM module.
Since going live in August 2008, the department has used GLM to track and
respond to 50 new grant opportunities. The County's Department of Parks and
Recreation went live in November 2008 and is tracking 150 grants through GLM.
The County plans to take a new department live each month through April 2009.
"With the challenging budget outlook in many state and local governments,
it's critical to maximize new and existing grant funding streams to offset
budget cuts," said Pat Colacicco, Vice-President, of CGI's AMS Advantage
group. "CGI prides itself on delivering the government-specific functionality
our clients rely on to help them maximize service to their constituents. Grant
Lifecycle Management is an excellent example of CGI collaborating with our
clients while increasing the capabilities of AMS Advantage for the benefit of
our entire user community."
