The only one who's on a smear campaign is the Dalton McGuinty Liberals
RICHMOND HILL, ON, June 2 /CNW/ - Today Progressive Conservative MPP
Frank Klees (Oak Ridges) said that when it comes to smear campaigns Dalton
McGuinty should be looking in the mirror.
"This weekend the McGuinty hypocrisy machine is going into overdrive,"
said Klees. "The man who called every single opposition MPP racist is now
warning his party about negative attacks."
Opposition MPPs recently spent weeks trying to get answers from Dalton
McGuinty about millions of dollars in taxpayer money that was given out in
grants without any transparency or accountability. Some of this money went to
groups with Liberal connections. One of those connections is the Liberal
candidate in Richmond Hill - Reza Moridi - who was a director of the Iranian
Canadian Community Centre, an organization that received $200,000 from Dalton
McGuinty just three weeks after registering as a charity.
"I can understand why Dalton McGuinty would consider being confronted
with his own record as an attack," said Klees. "With his record of broken
promises, unfulfilled commitments, and accusations of racism against every
opposition MPP, Dalton has every reason to fear being haunted by his own
Klees also pointed to the smear campaign against the NDP candidate in the
Parkdale-High Park by-election that was unleashed by the Liberals when they
found running on their record wasn't helping them.
"People know that Dalton McGuinty can't be believed when he says he's
going to take the high road. What's he going to do next? Give us a lecture on
the importance of keeping your word?"
