Local Entrepreneur Wins National Award

Moncton Retailer Receives Prestigious "Franchise Partner of the Year
    Award" from Second Cup

MONCTON, NB, June 5 /CNW/ - The owner of New Brunswick's Second Cup café
has been acclaimed Franchise Partner of the Year by the coffee retailer.
Susanne Flewwelling, owner of the Champlain Place Second Cup, was chosen from
among numerous franchise partner nominees across the country for her community
spirit and entrepreneurial ambition.
"I am proud to receive this honour for doing something that I love," said
Ms. Flewwelling. "I've always said that good customer service is just decent
human kindness and sincere caring. I consider my staff and customers to be my
friends and family, and it is their support that has helped to make this
possible."
Susanne opened her Second Cup franchise in January 2002. Since then, her
buoyant personality, skilled merchandising, and commitment to her guests and
fellow businesses in the centre, has turned her venture into a resounding
success. In addition to her role as a Second Cup franchise partner, Susanne is
heavily involved in the community, donating her spare time to the food bank,
IWK Hospital and many local charities and events.
"Excitement, familiarity, socializing and friendliness are the
cornerstones Susanne has used to build an extremely successful business, and
she has managed to provide individuality and uniqueness in everything she
does," said Bruce Elliot, president of Second Cup. "We are proud to say she is
the Second Cup Franchise Partner of the Year."
Second Cup's Franchise Partner of the Year award recognizes the Franchise
Partner who consistently delivers operational excellence and whose café
positively reflects Second Cup as a neighbourhood oasis. The judges had this
to say: "This Franchise Partner fully embraces the Second Cup vision and
enthusiastically supports Second Cup initiatives. Committed to excellence, she
hires exceptional people, consistently delivers specialty products and shares
best practices with the Second Cup community." As her prize, Susanne will
receive a trip to Panama to visit the famous Volcan Baru coffee estate where
Second Cup's exclusive El Toucan coffee is grown and harvested.
