BRAMPTON, ON, Jan. 30 /CNW/ - Loblaw Companies Limited's Loblaw store
located at 650 Dupont Street, Toronto will reopen on Monday, February 2, 2009,
at 8:00 am. The health and safety of our customers is paramount to us and we
apologize for any concern our temporary closing may have caused.
We are currently in the process of restocking food, including replacing
100% of our fresh food in the store including ready-to-eat, prepared in-store
items, bakery, produce, seafood, meat and deli. We are also taking this
opportunity to conduct a thorough retraining of all store employees on process
and procedures, focusing on smaller more intense group sessions in preparation
for the store reopening.
As a result this location will remain closed today and over the weekend
to accommodate the extended period of time required to accomplish these
actions to our enhanced standards. Please note that the dry-cleaning service
and pharmacy are currently available.
We appreciate the feedback and patience our customers have expressed to
us and we have taken all the input into consideration as action items. We look
forward to serving our community again.
All customers who wish to return products to the store can do so at the
customer service desk for a full refund when the store reopens on Monday,
February 2, 2009. We encourage our customers who have any questions about
products and our refund policy to please contact Loblaw Customer Service at
1-800-296-2332 or email@example.com.
We are committed to providing our customers with a clean and safe store
environment and offering products that are produced, sourced and handled
The store underwent a rigorous sanitization process to ensure a clean and
safe store environment. Our food safety team reviewed all products in the
store and ensured that any products deemed at risk were removed. Pest control
processes and procedures were reviewed and enhanced. As part of this process,
we will be conducting store audits every 48 hours by an independent third
party when the store reopens.
For additional health concerns about products purchased at this location,
please contact Toronto Public Health at 416-338-7600 or www.toronto.ca/health.
According to Toronto Public Health the risk of food borne illness from this
type of situation is low. Undamaged pre-packaged and canned food purchased
from our store would not be a health concern. However, if a package appears
damaged, do not consume.
The Dupont Loblaws store was last inspected in September 2008 and
received a green pass notice. No food safety violations were noted at that
time. Public Health has stated that the store has an excellent record of food
safety and the last 10 inspections have been in compliance.
