L.M. Sauvé preselected by Ottawa to bid on Parliament Building restoration

The Montreal company will soon bid on a $10 million contract

    MONTREAL, Feb. 14 /CNW Telbec/ - L.M. Sauvé, a Montreal company, is
pleased to announce its preselection by the Ministry of Public Works and
Government Services to bid on a restoration project of the north towers of the
West Block on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Notably, the renovation work will
include repairing the foundation walls, masonry restoration, repairing or
replacing chiseled sculptural elements and the replacement of the copper roof.
The total value of the work, to be carried out over a maximum period of
18 months, is expected to reach about $10 million.
Being preselected means that L.M. Sauvé will have the opportunity to
offer its expertise as a general contractor and masonry specialist. "Getting
the green light to bid on a contract of this magnitude is recognition of the
high level of expertise that we have developed in the field of heritage
building restoration," said Paul Sauvé, the company's president.
L.M. Sauvé will submit its bid, which will conform to the specifications
of the Ministry of Public Works and Government Services. Obtaining this
contract would once again enable the Montreal company to showcase its
expertise outside of Quebec. "We are confident that L.M. Sauvé will be one of
the firms chosen for this project. Beyond the challenge of the restoration, it
would be an honour for us, as a francophone firm, to participate in this
project and contribute to the preservation of such an important national
heritage site as Parliament Hill," added Mr. Sauvé.
