CALGARY, Dec. 4 /CNW/ - Elaine Ali, Senior Vice President, CTV Stations
Group, today announced the appointment of Len Perry to Vice President and
General Manager, CTV Calgary. With this appointment, effective January 1,
2008, Perry will oversee the day-to-day operation of the station.
"I am very proud to take on this new challenge and honoured to have the
opportunity to lead the excellent team at CTV Calgary," said Perry. "I am
confident that we will continue to strengthen our contribution to viewers and
to our community."
Perry was most recently Director of News and Public Affairs at CTV
Calgary, where for the past seven years he has lead the local news team and
received many honours including five international Edward R. Murrow Awards.
Under Perry's leadership, CTV Calgary has the four most-watched news programs
"I am delighted for Len and the station as he assumes his new role. Len's
combination of experience and management style makes him the ideal candidate
to guide the station in building upon its role as the leading broadcast
organization in the market," said Ali.
Perry currently sits on a number of educational committees in Calgary
including; Board of Governors for St. Mary's University/College; member of the
advisory committee for the Centre of Communications Studies at Mount Royal
College and former chair of the Advisory Committee for Broadcast Studies. He
was named Broadcaster of the Year by the Broadcast Educators Association of
Perry succeeds departing Vice President and General Manager
Pat McDougall, who recently announced her December 31 retirement.
