League agrees to terms



    TORONTO, Jan. 19 /CNW/ - The TORONTO BLUE JAYS and RHP BRANDON LEAGUE
have agreed to terms on a $640,000 US contract for the 2009 season.
    LEAGUE, 25, posted a 1-2 record with one save in 31 relief appearances.
The resident of Honolulu, Hawaii allowed just 28 hits in 33 innings with 15
walks and 23 strikeouts. In parts of five Major League seasons, all with the
Blue Jays, the 6-2, 205 lb. right hander has a 4-4 record with six saves and a
4.81 ERA in 101 games.
    The Blue Jays have five arbitration eligible players remaining, who have
yet to agree to terms for the 2009 season; RHP Jeremy Accardo, IF Jose
Bautista, RHP Shawn Camp, RHP Jason Frasor and LHP Brian Tallet.
