TORONTO, April 30 /CNW/ - Kim Carpenter-Gunn, Chairman of LAWPRO, the
Lawyers' Professional Indemnity Company, announced today that Michelle Strom,
President and CEO, has decided to retire. Michelle has been the President and
CEO of LAWPRO, and a member of its Board of Directors, since 2001. She joined
the company as the Chief Financial Officer in 1995. In her discussions with
the Chairman, Michelle has agreed to continue in her position until August of
2008, to ensure that the key initiatives already planned for this year will be
met, and to allow for a smooth transition to a new CEO.

Carpenter-Gunn, "achieving a solid financial performance year after year, and
growing a sustainable and innovative insurance program that responds to the
needs of lawyers throughout Ontario."
For her part, Michelle speaks proudly of her 12 years with LAWPRO. "It's

Company, a leading provider of ratings for the insurance industry worldwide.

Carpenter-Gunn says the transition period will be a smooth one, with
business as usual assured by Michelle's willingness to stay in her position
until a replacement is fully in place.
