Law Society Tribunal Decisions



    TORONTO, July 7 /CNW/ - The Law Society regulates the legal profession in
the public interest.

    As part of this mandate, the Law Society's Hearing and Appeal Panels
    recently heard the following matters. Hearing and Appeal Panels are
    composed of Law Society benchers - lawyers and lay people who are
    responsible for determining the appropriate disposition of cases.

    Jean Marc Boissonneault (1983), of the City of Toronto
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended for three months starting June 18,
    2008, and continuing indefinitely until certain conditions are met.

    Mary Martha Coady (1981), of the Town of Arnprior
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Law Society's motion to quash the Lawyer's appeal is
    allowed. The Lawyer's cross-motion is dismissed.

    George Gligoric (1986), of the City of Hamilton
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Lawyer's licence is suspended for three months, starting
    August 15, 2008.

    Michael John Clayton Hordo (1989), of the City of Vaughan
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Lawyer is granted permission to surrender his licence
    within 30 days, failing which, it will be revoked.

    Paulos Luizos (1998), of the City of Toronto
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended for one month, starting July 12, 2008.

    Peter Poulakis (1995), of the Town of Whitby
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Lawyer's licence is revoked.

    Peter Alfred Shoniker (1985), of the City of Toronto
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Lawyer's licence is revoked, effective immediately.

    Thomas John Simpson (1986) (lawyer), of the City of Mississauga
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: Upon payment of restitution to the Law Society for specified
    individuals, all of the within charges are dismissed.

    James Stefoff (1970), of the City of Toronto
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Lawyer is granted permission to surrender his licence
    within 30 days, failing which it will be revoked.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Scott Mcconnell Sullivan (1996), of the City of Windsor.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: Commencing on June 13, 2008 and continuing until this motion is
    disposed of on its merits, or until further order of the Hearing Panel,
    the Lawyer's licence is suspended on an interim interlocutory basis. He
    must comply with specified terms.

    Clifford Michael Sunday (1998) (lawyer), of the Town of Cornwall Island
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Law Society's appeal is allowed. The Decision and Order of
    the Hearing Panel dated January 16, 2007 is set aside. A new hearing is
    ordered before a different Hearing Panel, should the Society decide to
    re-proceed.

    Aldo Tollis (1990), of the City of Toronto
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended for 14 months, starting on June 1,
    2008. He must comply with specified terms.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Pieter Carel Verbeek (1984) (lawyer), of the City of Mississauga
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Appeal from part of the Decision of the Hearing Panel dated
    June 28, 2007 is dismissed.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Sammy Simeon Vucinic (1980), of the City of Windsor
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Lawyer shall be reprimanded.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Shale Steven Wagman (1986), of the City of Inglewood
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended for 15 days, starting July 1, 2008.

    Wing Lin Wong (2001), of the Town of Unionville
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Decision: The Lawyer is reprimanded. He must comply with specified terms.
