Law Society Tribunal Decisions



    TORONTO, June 5 /CNW/ - The Law Society regulates the legal profession in
the public interest.
    As part of this mandate, the Law Society's Hearing and Appeal Panels
recently heard the following matters. Hearing and Appeal Panels are composed
of Law Society benchers - lawyers and lay people who are responsible for
determining the appropriate disposition of cases.

    Glen Hugh Peter Abrahams (1984), of the City of Toronto
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended for 15 days, starting August 1, 2008.

    Fausto Boniferro (1976), of the City of London
    Decision: Costs of $85,000 are allowed against the Law Society.

    Louis Eugene Coté (1983), of the Town of Oakville
    Decision: The Lawyer shall be reprimanded.

    Constantino Giovanni D'Agostino (1992), of the City of North Bay
    Decision: The Lawyer's one month suspension will start on July 1, 2008.

    Laurie Austin Dakin (1978), of the Town of Deep River
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended for two months, starting September 1,
2008.

    Daniel Frank Daly (1987), of the City of Toronto
    Decision: The Lawyer shall be reprimanded.

    John Lawrence Deziel (1973), of the Town of Belle River
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended for one month, starting June 15, 2008.
The Lawyer shall comply with specific terms.

    Maurice Henri Gatien (1971), of the City of Cornwall
    Decision: The Lawyer is reprimanded.

    Clarence Justin Ashley Vincent Mohammed Griffin (1995), of the City of
    Brantford
    Decision: The Lawyer's licence is revoked.

    Moeen Mahmood Ahmad Janjua (1976), of the City of Mississauga
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended starting on April 23, 2008 and
continuing until May 23, 2008. If either party files a specified motion by
May 23, then the suspension will continue until the Hearing Panel determines
the motion. If no motion is filed, the Lawyer is suspended pending a final
order by a Hearing Panel after hearing the merits pertaining to matters
currently being investigated by the Law Society.

    James Alexander Kay (1992), of the City of Mississauga
    Decision: There shall be no costs payable by the Lawyer. The Lawyer's
request for costs is dismissed. The Amended Decision and Order of the Hearing
Panel dated July 24, 2006, suspending the Lawyer's licence, shall start
August 1, 2008 and continue for 30 days.

    Marshall Kazman (1984), of the City of Toronto
    Decision: The order of the Hearing Panel dated September 13, 2006, as to
disbarment, is upheld.

    Irene Mary Kimberley (2002), of the City of Toronto
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended for two months, starting July 1, 2008.
The Lawyer will comply with specific conditions.

    Gerald David Kearney (1998), of the City of Toronto
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended for three months, consecutive to the
administrative suspension. The Lawyer shall comply with specified terms and
conditions.

    Gary Morton Kuchar (1973), of the Community of Concord in the City of
    Vaughan
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended for one month starting June 1, 2008 and
continuing indefinitely until certain conditions have been met.

    Mireille Simone Jocelyne Marie Landry (1999), of the City of Ottawa
    Decision: The appeal from the Hearing Panel's order dated December 11,
2007 is dismissed. The one month suspension must start by August 1, 2008.

    Charles Zakery Markowitz (1975), of the City of Mississauga
    Decision: The Lawyer's licence is revoked.

    Allan Vincent Mills (1978), of the City of Hamilton
    Decision: The Lawyer is discharged from the obligations ordered by
Convocation on June 22, 1995 and November 23, 1995, which resulted in his
suspension. The Lawyer's rights and privileges are restored. The Lawyer will
comply with specific conditions.

    Hamidreza Mojtahedi (2002), of the City of Toronto
    Decision: The Lawyer's licence is revoked.

    Emanuele Montenegrino (1981), of the City of Ottawa
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended for two months, starting June 1, 2008.
On resumption of practice, until April 30, 2009, the Lawyer will comply with
specific conditions.

    Steven Michael Mucha (1979), of the City of Toronto
    Decision: The appeal from the Order of the Hearing Panel dated August 2,
2007 is allowed. The suspension is set aside and the Lawyer's licence is
revoked, effective immediately.

    Vivek Nijhawan (1994), of the City of Ottawa
    Decision: The Lawyer's licence is revoked.

    Anthony Stephen Rein (1988), of the Town of Newmarket
    Decision: The Lawyer must comply with terms within one month of April 11,
2008, failing which he will be suspended indefinitely until specific terms are
met.

    Warren Arnold Singer (1991), of the City of Brampton
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended indefinitely until certain terms have
been met. On resumption of practice, the Lawyer shall comply with specific
terms and conditions for three years and then indefinitely until the Director
of Professional Regulation is satisfied that the terms and conditions are no
longer required.

    Jonathan Wade Strug (2002), of the City of Toronto
    Decision: The Lawyer's licence is revoked.

    Bradly Johnston Vance (1985), of the Town of Whitby
    Decision: The Lawyer is suspended for two months and continuing
indefinitely until specific conditions have been met.

    Gordon Ernest Watkin (1980), of the Town of Richmond Hill
    Decision: The Lawyer is reprimanded.

    Robert William Wilson (1979), of the Town of Oakville
    Decision: The Lawyer shall be suspended for one month, starting August 1,
2008, and continuing indefinitely until the Lawyer has complied with certain
terms and conditions.
