Law Society of Upper Canada Accredits Herzing College Paralegal Program

<p><span class="xn-location">TORONTO</span> and <span class="xn-location">OTTAWA</span>, Ontario, <span class="xn-chron">March 24</span> /CNW/ -- Herzing College's Paralegal diploma programs in <span class="xn-location">Toronto</span> and <span class="xn-location">Ottawa</span> have recently been accredited by the Law Society of Upper <span class="xn-location">Canada</span> (LSUC), making graduates eligible to apply to take the Paralegal Licensing Examination through LSUC.  The exam is required in order to practice as a duly qualified licensed Paralegal in Ontario.  Herzing College <span class="xn-location">Toronto</span> is currently the only Private Career College in <span class="xn-location">Toronto</span> that offers an LSUC accredited Paralegal program.</p>

<p>"Our campus is ideally located in the <span class="xn-location">Toronto</span> Eaton Centre in the centre of downtown's law district, surrounded by court offices and several large law firms which afford our Paralegal graduates various internship and job opportunities," said <span class="xn-person">George Hood</span>, campus president of Herzing College - <span class="xn-location">Toronto</span>.</p>

<p>Opportunities also abound in <span class="xn-location">Ottawa</span>. "Herzing <span class="xn-location">Ottawa</span> is one of only 3 colleges approved by the LSUC to offer an accredited Paralegal program in the Capital Region," stated <span class="xn-person">Dr. Michael McAllister</span>, campus president of Herzing College - <span class="xn-location">Ottawa</span>.  "With over 800 law firms, as well as the federal government, internship and employment opportunities are numerous."</p>

<p>The Herzing College one-year Paralegal diploma program includes a 120-hour internship that is a requirement to write the licensing exam.  The program provides both theory and practical skills covering all areas where Paralegals are permitted to practice, such as small claims court, advocacy, highway traffic, tribunals, and landlord and tenant law.  Graduates are qualified to work in law firms, government offices, corporate legal departments, or become self-employed.</p>

<p>"What I liked best about the Herzing Paralegal program were the teachers and staff," said J. Wayne Pitterson, Duly Licensed Paralegal and Herzing College graduate.  "They were able to relate to students and portray the feeling that they truly cared, allowing myself and others to reach for the stars with a vast array of knowledge of the program.  This was KEY for me," he added.</p>

<p>Herzing College campuses in <span class="xn-location">Ottawa</span> and <span class="xn-location">Toronto</span> also offer a Law Clerk diploma program that provides students with the education to work both as a Legal Assistant and a Law Clerk.</p>
