Laurentian Bank Little Heroes Club(TM) contributes $55,000 to the Quebec Breakfast Club

    MONTREAL, Aug. 19 /CNW Telbec/ - Laurentian Bank awarded a contribution
of $55,000 to the Quebec Breakfast Club this past August 17 at the closing
evening of the International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
This amount was raised in conjunction with a benefit show held during the
event's opening festivities on August 19 featuring rock groups Tokio Hotel and
Hedley.
The gift was presented to Quebec Breakfast Club founder Daniel Germain by
Laurentian Bank's Vice-President, Marketing, Stéphane Gagnon. "The opening
show was a great success enabling us to raise a significant sum through ticket
sales, the involvement of the Bank's partners and contributions at our
branches," explained Mr. Gagnon. "We are delighted to lend our support to an
organization like the Quebec Breakfast Club dedicated to promoting the
development and well-being of young people."

Another Concrete Gesture by the Little Heroes Club

Its gift to the Quebec Breakfast Club serving as another example of its
commitment to supporting worthy causes, the Little Heroes Club was created by
Laurentian Bank as an umbrella under which the organization can group its
donation, sponsorship and general support initiatives in aid of children and
their families. The Little Heroes Club is particularly active in the
organization of children's activities during events in which the Bank is
involved, including celebrations and festivals across the province, cultural
events designed especially for families and youngsters, and soccer tournaments
and festivities. The principal objective of this initiative is to encourage
children to participate in sports, cultural and artistic activities within
their community, as well as to enable them to enjoy a range of memorable
experiences and emotions.

    Quebec Breakfast Club

Since its establishment in 1994 by Daniel Germain, the Quebec Breakfast
Club has been committed to ensuring that the province's children have access
to a nutritious breakfast before going off to class. During 2006-2007, some
2.1 million breakfasts were served to 15,000 students at 213 schools enrolled
in the program. More information about the Quebec Breakfast Club is available
