Montréal Inc. unveiled its new trademark. Well known in dance and cultural
circles as "LADMMI," the school has officially announced its new corporate
name so that its identity corresponds to its current reality.
For more than 25 years, Les Ateliers de danse moderne de Montréal Inc.
has been a leading figure in the Québec and Canadian dance communities. Over
the years, the contemporary dance school's name has been transformed into its
"The word 'ateliers' no longer corresponds to the educational nature of
our establishment," explains Lucie Boissinot, Artistic and Educational
Director and Acting General Director, "Similarly, 'danse moderne' refers to
the modern dance pioneers from the middle of the last century that has
gradually been replaced with what we now call 'contemporary dance.'"
A new and distinctive signature, "l'école de danse contemporaine" has
also been added to the name and better defines the school's mission. The logo
being unveiled today makes this updated trademark official. The visual
emphasis on the word "danse" stresses the close ties that LADMMI enjoys with
the contemporary dance milieu. And like the visual central column depicted in
the logo, LADMMI's the strength and influence emerges with that of growing
number of dance artists who have graduated from the school and are now taking
the world by storm.
Known for the rigour of the training offered to its students, LADMMI
educates versatile dance artists. The quality of the school's teaching methods
develop technical, artistic and individual excellence which gives LADMMI's
graduates access to a career in today's professional contemporary dance
