Kronos(R) to Present ''OLE: Overall Labor Effectiveness(TM)'' at Canada's Largest Manufacturing Technology Conference

    TORONTO, October 15 /CNW/ - Kronos Incorporated

What: 'Global' and 'lean' initiatives are changing the manufacturing
landscape. What every manufacturer needs to compete effectively
in this market is a sound framework for measuring productivity.
Gregg Gordon, global practice leader for manufacturing at
Kronos(R) Incorporated will examine how labor is a crucial
factor in this measurement structure at the Canadian
           Manufacturing Technology Show today.

Many measurements focus on labor hours and machine
effectiveness or production output. While most manufacturers
carefully track employee time and attendance, few have an
organized method for clearly understanding labor utilization.
Gordon will discuss Overall Labor Effectiveness(TM) (OLE), a
key performance indicator developed by Kronos that considers
the impact of labor on production, and helps manufacturers
measure the overall effectiveness of their workforce.

    When: Monday, Oct. 15, 1:00 p.m. ET

Where: The Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show
           Direct Energy Centre, Toronto, Ontario
           http://www.cmts.ca/

Why: For many manufacturing executives today, dealing with a
workforce in flux, competing with offshore manufacturing, and
maintaining profitability are critical survival factors. In
this session, Gordon will demonstrate how these challenges can
be overcome by workforce optimization. He will also examine OLE
as an overall performance measurement of the three factors of
productive output: employee availability, performance, and
quality. OLE produces an accurate big picture of the
interactions between labor and equipment enabling manufacturers
to drill down to root cause issues and best practices, which
are missing from other measurements. Specific learning
objectives that this session will facilitate are:

-- Enhance the understanding of the relationship between
Overall Equipment Effectiveness and Overall Labor
              Effectiveness;
-- How to use OLE as a tool to improve the overall
effectiveness of your labor force; and
-- How to establish methods of quantifying, diagnosing, and
predicting the performance of the workforce.

Finally, attendees will learn not just about a single concept
of OLE but will gain insights on the overall productivity issue
that will help them stay ahead of the competition.
