QUEBEC, Sept. 26 /CNW Telbec/ - KOREM, a leader in the development and

announced today the release of the KOREM Quebec Street Database (QSDB), which
integrates NAVTEQ street level data with Quebec official odonyms (street
names) for the entire province. KOREM, NAVTEQ, and the Commission de toponymie
of Quebec (CTQ) worked to integrate the official street names with NAVTEQ map
data of Quebec. KOREM's QSDB, available in October 2007, provides normalized
map display and enhanced geocoding and routing capacities.
KOREM selected NAVTEQ's map data of Quebec because of the quality and
precision of its geometric data and high percentage of named streets and
address ranges. According to Mr. Sebastien Vachon, President of KOREM, "NAVTEQ
has participated in every step of the project with a remarkable level of
efficiency therefore demonstrating the professionalism and dedication of this
KOREM's Quebec Street Database is being offered to existing, licensed
NAVTEQ customers as an add-on. For new customers, KOREM is offering a bundled
version of the QSDB that includes NAVTEQ map data of Quebec integrated with
Quebec official odonyms. KOREM's QSDB will be available in MapInfo, TAB,
ESRI Shapefile, and Oracle map data formats. It also includes all original
NAVTEQ variables, CTQ's normalized odonyms, and treatment codes.

adds Mr. Vachon. This public organization which was created by Charter of the
French language is responsible for managing place names in the province of
Quebec. According to Article 128 of the Charter, "Upon the publication in the
Gazette officielle du Québec of the names chosen or approved by the
Commission, the use of such names becomes obligatory in texts and documents of
the civil administration and the semipublic agencies, in traffic signs, in
public signs and posters and in teaching manuals and educational and research
works published in Québec and approved by the Minister of Education."
