Kids Travel Free
For travel from June 1 - September 15, 2008, those over 18 purchasing a
senior, student (18+), youth (18 to 25), or adult-fare ticket in VIA's Comfort
Class (economy) can bring a child ages 2-11 for free (children under two years
of age always travel free as long as they do not occupy a seat), but this
promotion lets tiny tots enjoy their own seat at no extra cost! Available on
every VIA train system-wide, the "Kids Travel Free" program makes it even more
affordable to plan the perfect family getaway on VIA while exploring some of
Canada's most exciting destinations.
Seniors - Bring a friend for FREE!
VIA's Senior's Companion Fares allow passengers age 60 and over traveling
in Comfort Class (economy) to bring along a companion for free. For July and
August in VIA 1 Class on the Ontario-Quebec Corridor trains, and in sleepers
year-round, seniors' travel companions receive a 75% discount off the regular
adult fare. Tickets must be booked three or more days before departure and are
subject to limited availability. There are no restrictions on the age of the
VIA 1 Promotional Fare
VIA 1 Class is the premier-level service on VIA's Ontario-Québec Corridor
trains. VIA has extended special promotional fares between several cities. For
example, travel between Toronto-Montréal or Toronto-Ottawa is just $149. VIA 1
includes access to the Panorama Lounge, pre-boarding privileges, at-your-seat
meal and beverage service and pay per use Wi-Fi access. Other special VIA 1
fares are available through the Québec City-Windsor Corridor.
Half-Price Saturday Travel Through September 27, 2008
Each Saturday until September 27, 2008, passengers can "half it both
ways" when traveling within the Ontario-Quebec Corridor. This special fare is
valid on trips worth CAD $80 or less at the regular adult fare (before taxes).
With this deal, travelers visiting destinations within the Corridor -
including Windsor, Toronto, Niagara, Kingston, London, Ottawa, Montréal and
Québec City - can take day trips on Saturdays and receive the half-off
discount in both directions. Travel times between these destinations are
generally less than three hours in each direction. No advance purchase is
required, but the number of seats offered on this discount is limited.
Win big with VIA's "Flexi Fares"- coast-to-coast savings. VIA's "Flexi
Fares" are based on a one-way fare concept and have common conditions and
restrictions throughout the VIA network. Depending on availability, Comfort
class passengers may choose from Regular Fares, Discounted Fares or Supersaver

VIA Rail Canada has your ticket to ride
Summer is the season of festivals and with so much to see and do in
Canada, the summer is a great time to travel with VIA Rail. The 2008
Canrailpass provides access to the entire VIA system. Included in this pass is
12 days of unlimited travel during a 30-day period, and allows passengers to
make as many stops as required throughout their journey. Passes start at $879
