All newly redesigned 2009 Magentis passenger vehicles will come standard
with this feature
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Jan. 12 /CNW/ - Assisting customers with saving fuel and
money, Kia Canada is incorporating an "Eco Minder" indicator light as standard
equipment on all 2009 Kia Magentis vehicles with automatic transmissions.
Integrated into the dash inside the speedometer ring, the green "ECO" light
illuminates when the driver has reached optimum fuel efficiency.
"Fuel efficiency is of paramount concern to our customers, by providing
this simple technology to all our Magentis vehicles we are doing what we can
help provide an extra measure of fuel savings to our already economical
mid-size sedan," said Brian Kim, National Manager Product Planning.
By constantly monitoring engine and vehicle speed, and driver input, the
Eco Minder system informs the driver that the vehicle has reached optimal fuel
efficiency at that moment and for those conditions. Based on Kia internal
research, a driver can improve City economy by 6.9% and by 13% Highway with
the 2.4 litre four cylinder engine, and by 5.2% City and 11.5% Highway with
the 2.7 litre six cylinder engine.
