TORONTO, June 20 /CNW/ - Kelsey's Restaurant (Bowmanville) will receive a
Fire Safety Partner Award from the Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council
at a ceremony on June 28, 2007 in Toronto. The annual Fire Safety Awards
recognize outstanding contributions to fire protection and prevention in
Every September for the last four years, Kelsey's Restaurant
(Bowmanville) has supported Clarington's Family Safety Day by donating hot
dogs, condiments, a portable cooker and the staff needed to cook and serve the
hot dogs. The free one-day event is hosted by Clarington Emergency & Fire
Services and the average attendance is approximately 6,000 people. It is the
largest event of its kind in Durham region.
"Kelsey's Restaurant (Bowmanville) has demonstrated a strong commitment
to fire safety in Clarington through its continued support of the Family
Safety Day," said Ontario Fire Marshal Pat Burke. "As a result, thousands of
residents have been educated about fire and life safety."
Fire departments throughout the province nominated individuals and
organizations for this year's awards; 21 recipients were selected. The
Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services Monte Kwinter and Fire
Marshal Burke will present the awards at a luncheon ceremony at the Fairmont
Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
